Using micro delays allow to place a sound at different time and levels in the left/right panorama.
Micro-delays can cause phase cancellation or psycho acoustic effects such as sound disapearing from one side or disproportionate level differences. To solve this, use different volumes for the left and right channels, or eq the left/right channels differently. Generally, a micro delay is used in a chain that uses some dual mono effects, such 2 mono Eqs to equalize differently the left and right channels. In stereo chains, one could use stereo effects that create differences on both channels, such as dynamic or modulation effects.
